Five competitions. One ladder.

Four annual events run Regional → State → National every year. Nationals is the yearly flagship. Every other year, that cycle’s National round is upgraded into the MediLink Apex.

MediLink Nationals

The annual centerpiece. Teams of 3–4 cover the clinical, financial, and technology lenses on a real health-system case drawn from that year’s Track 4 capstone. Regional → State → National, ending in a national round and awards gala.

Explore Nationals
  • Innovation Challenge

Pitch a health-tech product or digital-health concept. Individual or teams of up to 3. Fits right after Track 2.

  • Policy Cup

Policy brief and live debate. Individual or pairs. Ties to Track 1 and Track 3.

  • Research Symposium

Poster and presentation. Lowest barrier to entry — an on-ramp for newer members.

  • The MediLink Apex

Biennial champions summit. Invites top performers from the four annual tracks into that cycle’s upgraded National round. See Road to Apex standings

Nationals and the Apex

Nationals happens every year. The Apex happens every two years by upgrading that cycle’s National round — same qualification pipeline, larger gathering. Sponsors get a dedicated networking fair at the Apex, not only a logo placement.

How the Apex works

Regional → State → National

Every annual competition uses the same three-tier ladder. This describes the structure — not a specific year’s calendar.

Dates, formats, and requirements are set each year by the state chapter board and shared through chapter leaders.

Level 1

Regional Events

The first competitive level, run at or near individual chapters, open to all active members.

Level 2

State Events

Top regional performers advance. State events are coordinated by the state chapter board.

Level 3

National Events

State qualifiers compete nationally. In an Apex year, this level is the multi-day summit.
