MediLink Policy Cup

A policy brief and live debate/presentation competition. Individual or pairs. Each year’s topic set — drug pricing, rural access, insurance reform, and similar — is chosen by the state chapter board and judged by volunteer healthcare, finance, and policy professionals. Ties directly to Track 1 and Track 3.

What It Is

Competitors research a live issue — insurance access, rural care deserts, drug pricing, and similar challenges — then write a brief and argue for a concrete reform. The format is debate and presentation, not a written exam.

Who Can Participate

Open to high school students in grades 9–12 who are active members of a MediLink chapter. Individual or pairs.

What to Expect

A policy brief plus live advocacy, advancing Regional → State → National. State chapter boards set prompts, round format, and requirements each year.

Compete Through Your Chapter

Participation is through a MediLink chapter at your high school. Ask your chapter leader for this year’s Policy Cup timeline.
